We got to the port without incident. Soon we were checked in and directed to a bus that would take us to the ferry. I suppose it is better than walking, but this was not a well thought out system. We found a bus similar to a "Disney Bus", which has several rows of seats facing front and back, clearly made for the efficient transport of people, not people with luggage. Luckily we were one of the first families on, so we went all the way to the back and took up four seats with our bags and four with our bodies. As more people boarded, they had to navigate around other people's luggage while trying to keep control of their own. Soon we were on our way for the very short bus ride to the ferry.
They drive the bus right onto the ferry and let us off. Unfortunately a tour bus had just finished disembarking its passengers and another was behind us. The reason this was a problem is that we were on deck 3 and the cabins were on decks 10 and 11. So since the elevators were so busy and the line really long, and it was freezing there, we decided to take the stairs. That was fun with 4 suitcases and 4 duffle bags. Josh was the Man! He carried his suitcase and bag and Zack's suitcase. We wouldn't have made it without him.
After getting our stuff delivered to our rooms, we went down one deck to have some dinner. Chicken thighs, fish n chips, chicken nuggets, and pancakes. Those of you who know us well know who ordered what.
After dinner we went back to the cabin to settle in for the night, or at least for the hours. It was now midnight Amsterdam time and we would be getting woken up at 630am for a 745 disembarkment.
