I chose the chicken and rice. It had:
A green salad with vinaigrette dressing
A "tv dinner" of over microwaved chicken and rice
A roll and butter
Cheese and crackers
A brownie (which zack traded me for his Oreos)
And beverage of choice. I got cran-apple juice.
The salad was nicely chilled and the dressing was yummy. I really, really wanted to like the tv dinner, but just didn't. The rice was mushy, the sauce too spicy, and it had olives in it. I am not usually a fan of cheddar cheese, but the cheese and crackers was very yummy. The roll was super soft and chewy, just the way I like them. And the Oreos were Oreos.
I have decided that, even in economy comfort, there just is not enough room on airplanes. Of course the kids finished their meals first. So they held on to their trays, now full of wrappers and empty food containers, for a bit. We got our dinners and were able to get half way through them before they both needed to go potty. So, doug was able to deal with his and Josh's trays (turns out he was done eating already) and then took zacks and mine while Zack got up. So then we put all the dirty trays on Zack's tray table, but then he came back and had a fit. So after Doug and Josh got situated back in their seats, they took the trays. So then I could finally finish my dinner. The lady with the garbage cart came, so I quickly finished (I am like mom...I like to savor my food. Translation: I eat slow) but before she could take my tray the water/tea/coffee lady came. So here I am holding my glass of water because I have no where to put it and then I can't hand off my tray. Ugh! But finally all the trays are gone. We have 3 hours and 45 minutes left in the flight. They can't turn the lights off yet because they have to have them on for the duty free boutique they are gonna be bringing through. Yay! So they will probably turn them off in an hour... only to turn them back on an hour after that for our light breakfast. I guess there is no sleeping allowed on this overnight flight.
