Canterbury Cathedral

After lunch we wondered down the street to Canterbury Cathedral.  This was another place where it seemed the city was built up around an ancient building, but this city hardly left the cathedral any room to breath.  One minute we are walking down the street, shops as far as they eye can see, and then amidst all these shops is a large stone archway. This is the entrance to the cathedral grounds.  Once you go through the arch, there is a bit of a churchyard before you get to the actual cathedral.  This made me feel much better.  It would be a shame to have no green space around a church.

Upon entering the cathedral, a very nice guide asked Zack if he would like a workbook.  She brought him one, along with a pencil.  Inside was a search for the picture page.  As he was a pro at this from yesterday, he started right in and found the first one.  The problem was, he wanted to go super fast and find them all. Doug wanted to explore and take pictures at a slower pace, so Josh and I tagged after Zack as he completed his mission.  After all were done, we headed back to the bus and were off to see the famous White Cliffs of Dover.
